Aloha, Tiny Hope

🌺Aloha ~
Today we talked about being •ohana• in God.
Because God is like our Father, we are like brothers and sisters. This was a tricky concept but by the end of class we had a better understanding.
We learned to sing ‘Jesus Loves Me’ in Hawaiian - or started to… we still need practice but have the chorus down:
•Keiki aloha o iešu • (kay-kee alōha o ye-su)
🥥 We imagined coconuts falling from trees onto our head 🌴
🍍 We got to see inside a pineapple and shake a coconut (named Aloha) before tasting both. We also tried coconut milk and had blueberry muffins 🫐
🌺We made tropical flowers for our wrist and learned a simple hula move to remind us of the wind and sea, both gifts from God. 🌬️ 🌊
Our friend Koko has ventured to the islands of Hawaii where we hope he can visit with our •Kingdom ohana•, New Hope Waimea Christian Fellowship. We will check in with him again soon.

I let them all pick the color of their little paper umbrellas, but two kids wanted the only blue one. Explaining to Jordan that Levana had already asked for the blue, I asked if there was another color he would like. He chose yellow like Everett had.
ME: You have matching yellow umbrellas - like brothers!
JORDAN (smiling): Yeah
LEVY: Actually, I’ll have pink, like her! (Azalea)
It was a sweet moment where they were all happy to be •ohana• 🌺
